Plantijn University College of the Province of Antwerp (Belgium):
Plantijn Hogeschool provides higher education in the area of Business Management, Communication and Journalism, Law and Management Sciences, Socio-educational Care Work, Chemistry and Teacher Training. Most of the training programmes include an internship period. International internships are highly stimulated and students get special guidance from experienced staff. In some of the programmes the students are obliged to spend their internship period abroad.The university is constantly cooperating with multinationals, SME’s, entrepreneurs and local government agencies, both in Belgium and in other countries. Plantijn Hogeschool runs two programmes in English: International Communication and Alsem (www.alsem.be). According to its mission, it aims to provide qualitative education focusing on the labour market, in a fully international context. The university helps students to become true European citizens promoting a European outlook and organizing activities such as a European study week, regular international study visits, intensive multi-cultural programmes, student and staff mobility etc. The modular education system (based on e- and action learning) ensures that students become more aware of the influences of the international economic markets.
